# Prompthen — AI Education for Non-Programmers > Prompthen is a method that turns ordinary people — regardless of technical background — into orchestrators of AI agents and builders of Interface-for-AI: software designed for AI to operate, not for humans to click. ## About Prompthen is an AI learning method created by Paulo Teixeira. It teaches non-programmers to build AI agents, agent teams, automations, and ultimately Interface-for-AI — without requiring any coding knowledge. The method is built on 25+ years of automation experience and large-scale practice — trillions of tokens processed through AI APIs across that career, including more than 30 billion through Claude Code alone in a three-month span at the end of 2025, now running at roughly 1.5 billion tokens per day. ## The Method The Prompthen Method has 6 pillars: 1. Zero Friction — no prerequisites, no programming, simple language 2. Result First — every lesson delivers a functional artifact 3. Progressive Ladder — invisible staircase with 7 rungs and 2 turning points 4. Autonomy Not Cloning — think WITH AI, don't copy prompts 5. Meta Construction — AI creates tools for itself under your direction 6. Validated Shortcut — 25+ years of experience distilled into a method ## The 7-Rung Progressive Ladder 1. Web chat (Claude/ChatGPT/Gemini) for a real task → "Oh, that's it?" 2. Prompting + context engineering → "I've been using it wrong" 3. First specialized agent → "I have an assistant" 4. Agent with tools (Claude Code) → "It's actually DOING things" (operational turn) 5. Multiple specialized agents → "I have a team" 6. Orchestration + automation → "I'm directing an AI team" 7. **Interface-for-AI** → "I stopped building software for humans to click — I build for AI to operate" (conceptual turn) The seventh rung is the paradigm inversion that separates Prompthen students from people who just use Claude Code faster. At rung 7, you stop building dashboards, forms, and screens for humans to click. You build atomic CLI commands with structured JSON output, plus an agent operator that translates between natural language and those commands.
